The producers of the critically acclaimed documentary, Icons of Evolution, sat down for an interview with Dr. Berlinski. The interview was a lucid and entertaining critique of Darwinian evolution. Some will find him persuasive, others simply inflammatory. Perhaps the best way to describe him would be from one of the nation’s leading advocates of ‘Darwin-only Education’. She called him ‘incorrigible.’
A debate on the merits of intelligent design theory was held at FreedomFest 2008. George Gilder and Stephen Meyer, both from the Discovery Institute, argued for intelligent design, and Michael Shermer and Ronald Bailey argued against. Following their arguments, panel members responded to audience members questions.
A new supplementary textbook from Hill House Publishers. The purpose of Explore Evolution is to examine the scientific controversy about Darwin’s theory, and in particular, the contemporary version of the theory known as neo-Darwinism. For years supporters of Darwin’s theory claimed to oppose teaching religion in the nation’s science classrooms. But just in time for Darwin Day 2008, leading evolution proponents including the National Academy of Sciences, the Public Broadcasting Service, and the National Center for Science Education are cynically promoting religious instruction in schools as a way of defusing opposition to Darwinian evolution.
Join Discovery Institute Senior Fellow Dr. John West, author of Darwin Day in America (ISI Books), as he presents a tale of hypocrisy and hubris on the part of leading Darwinists and examines how they are willing to undermine the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause to promote their views. Myth #1: There are no peer-reviewed scientific papers supporting intelligent design. Judge Jones said that ID “…has not generated peer-reviewed publications.” FACT: Judge Jones is simply wrong. Discovery Institute submitted an amicus brief to Judge Jones that documented various peer-reviewed publications, which he accepted into evidence. This is a fact based question which is hard to get wrong. The fact Read More ›

No. Intelligent design theory is simply an effort to empirically detect whether the “apparent design” in nature acknowledged by virtually all biologists is genuine design (the product of an intelligent cause) or is simply the product of an undirected process such as natural selection acting on random variations. In 2002 the board of the AAAS issued a resolution attacking intelligent design theory as unscientific. Unfortunately, the process by which this resolution was adopted was itself anything but scientific. In fact, the resolution was more a product of prejudice than impartial investigation. Read More ›
