Remembering a Pioneer: Bob Coté

This year I've written about what I learned in Colorado Springs at the Springs Rescue Mission. His name: Bob Coté, a six-foot-three-inch ex-amateur boxer who in his forties changed his life by not drinking his usual half gallon of vodka for lunch. Instead, he poured out the bottle's contents and became in 1983 one of the original residents of a new program, Step 13. Read More ›

Rescuing Evolutionary Theory from Darwinian Mythology

Untitled-129

Plato’s Revenge

First there was the genetic revolution—the discovery that physical structures in the cell, including DNA and RNA, shape every organism. Now, says evolutionary biologist Richard Sternberg, we are overdue for another and more profound revolution. Recent findings reveal that genetic and even epigenetic sources alone cannot account for the rich dynamism of life—not even close. Some other informational source is required. Read More ›

Can the Left Do “Abundance”?

In 1981 George Gilder wrote about supply-side economics in his book "Wealth and Poverty." Ronald Reagan read it and embraced its message, enabling decades of technology-led growth. Also, Mr. Gilder was one of the first to talk about abundance. His most important economic axiom, for me anyway, is "waste what's abundant to make up for what's scarce." Silicon Valley lives by this. Fearmongering and Falsehoods Over Education Dept. Shutdown

Unsurprisingly, there is tremendous fearmongering marked by falsehoods from the opposition regarding President Trump’s executive order to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education. Public school personnel are already claiming that special education funding has been cut and that closing the department will devastate their ability to educate students. These claims are unfounded. Bioethicist: “Queer the Genome” Through Same-Sex Reproduction

The mainstream bioethics movement aims to destroy human exceptionalism and Judeo-Christian morality as the philosophical foundations of society. Toward that end, the academic discourse repeatedly revels in the transgressive as bioethicists take to the most influential journals to advocate destroying "natural limits" and maximizing concepts of personal autonomy that are destructive of social cohesion.
