Contact FAQ
We receive quite a number of daily messages, and although every message is reviewed by our staff, we unfortunately do not have the capacity to reply to all of them.
We really appreciate your interest in our work. If you haven’t already, we invite you to subscribe to our monthly Flagship newsletter for general news and articles from all of our programs (economics, technology, science, education, and more) or to the weekly Nota Bene newsletter for news and articles about intelligent design.
Fortunately, the majority of the questions we receive are already answered in resources developed and published on our website. Here’s a quick summary of the most frequent email inquiries and our responses, with links to helpful information:
Q. How may I host one of your Fellows to speak at an event in my area?
A. We’re glad you’d like to host us! Please fill out our Speaker Request form, and submit it for our staff to review.
Q. How may I interview one of your Fellows for a media outlet?
A. We’re glad you’d like to interview our fellows. Please fill out our Media Request form, and submit it for our staff to review.
Q. Who may I talk to about my charitable giving to Discovery Institute?
A. Thank you for your generosity! For questions about your giving and your donor account, contact our Development Director Kelley Unger via email, or call (206) 826-5548.
Q. How may I get permission to re-use your material in a publication, at an event, or in some other context?

Q. How may I request a review copy of a Discovery Institute Press book?
A. Thank you for your interest in reviewing a book by Discovery Institute Press. Please fill out our Review Copy Request form and submit it for our staff to review.
Q. Where may I find more information about your research supporting the theory of intelligent design?
A. Through our Center for Science & Culture (CSC), we have developed numerous resources presenting aspects of our research. Please visit our CSC website to search our database of articles, review our Frequently Asked Questions about the CSC, and review other questions we are frequently contacted about.
Q. What training programs do you offer for students and young professionals, and how can I apply?
A. Around January, we open up the application process for our summer seminars held in Seattle, with programs focusing on Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Economics. Please review the eligibility requirements and start your application for these seminars by visiting the Summer Seminars page (science programs) or the Gilder Fellows Seminar page (economics program). Each year, we also mentor a group of young people in civic leadership. Please visit our Chapman Fellows page to review eligibility requirements and apply for this year-long fellowship.
Q. I’m working on a paper or a project and I need information about a topic related to your work. Can you help me?
A. Absolutely! In addition to numerous books, DVDs, and online videos, we have a searchable archive of thousands of articles available for your reference. You are welcome to access and cite these appropriately in your own work.
Q. How may I contact George Gilder?
A. Messages for George Gilder may be directed to our Senior Program Manager Erik Nutley via email.
Q. How can I contact one of your Fellows about something he or she said in a book, article, lecture, or interview?
A. Our Fellows maintain full schedules of teaching, research, writing, interviews, and speaking engagements. Since we cannot promise their ability to respond, their email addresses are not available publicly. Common questions about their work are typically addressed either in their previous or subsequent books or articles, or in books or articles by another Fellow. Using our website to search an Author or Keywords related to a publication will often lead to answers. In addition to our searchable database, we have devoted a Responses to Critics page to consolidate CSC Fellows’ responses to the most common questions specifically related to intelligent design. If your inquiry is in response to our work but not already addressed in our afore-mentioned resources, it may be shared with our research staff or Fellows for their consideration.
Q. There’s an article/book I’ve found or authored myself that I’d like to share with you. Will your staff and Fellows be able to study it and share your feedback?
A. We’re grateful to a wide network of laypeople as well as credentialed scientists and academics who understand and share in Discovery Institute’s mission! We would like to consult one-on-one with everyone, but our ability is very limited. As a nonprofit organization supported almost exclusively by private donors, we seek to maximize resources and impact by planning a full schedule of yearly events, media production, and publications. This is accomplished by a fairly small staff, many of whom are not full-time. Unfortunately, reading, reviewing, and advising on books, articles, and other materials proposed by those outside our network of Fellows is generally not a service that we have the capacity to offer.
Q. Will you please fix a typo or a broken link that I found on one of your web pages?
A. Thank you for drawing this to our attention! We will share your message with our web staff.
