Ingraham explained how the Education Freedom Tax Credit works, the federal government’s ongoing efforts to return education to the states and empower parents, and the importance of restoring academic excellence in K-12 education.

Roughly $800 billion is spent annually on K-12 education, yet the National Assessment of Educational Progress results indicate that, on average, seven out of 10 public school students score below grade-level proficiency in reading and math. Under the Education Freedom Tax Credit, taxpayers can contribute up to $1,700 annually to approved scholarship-granting organizations and, in return, receive a dollar-for-dollar federal tax credit.
