The Bottom Line How Can You Combat the Danger Lurking in Education?
The data is clear. America is drastically behind the rest of the world in the education of our children. For a nation that leads the world in education spending, more than $720 billion annually, this is simply not acceptable.
Dr. Keri D. Ingraham, Director and Fellow of Discovery Institute’s American Center for Transforming Education, laid out the facts in her article, “More Money Can’t Solve the K-12 Education Crisis”.
Education performance has flatlined. Our kids don’t read as well as they should, they often can’t write cogent sentences, and in mathematics and science the results are dismal. Among other developed nations, U.S. students place a pitiful 26th overall. When it comes to performance by subject, our students fall 17th in reading, 23rd in science, and 33rd in math.
Why has our country experienced such a decline in education? The answer to this question is both disturbing and destructive.
America’s schools have shifted from places we send children to learn academic core subjects to institutions where ideologues are indoctrinating students with radical, frequently anti-American propaganda.
This is far more than a slippery slope — it’s an outright abandonment of a fact-based education in exchange for an agenda-based indoctrination.
