^{The Bottom Line} Keri D. Ingraham Attends White House Back to School and Education Freedom Event

On August 24, Discovery Institute Senior Fellow and American Center for Transforming Education Director Keri D. Ingraham attended the “Back to School and Education Freedom Event,” hosted at the White House by invitation of President Trump.

The event brought together students, parents, educators, policymakers, and education leaders from across the country to celebrate historic wins for education freedom, the protection of parental rights, and working to move K-12 education control out of Washington and back to the states where it rightfully belongs.

From the steps outside the Oval Office, President Trump greeted guests seated in the Rose Garden and delivered remarks.

He noted that our country’s education has been “weaponized against the goals that we all stand for.” More specifically explaining that “critical race theory and transgender insanity were forced upon our children as young as four and five years old.” Continuing, President Trump committed, “we’re systematically ending every single one of these radical left betrayals, and we’re putting the parents back in charge. They’re the ones that love our children; they’re the ones that should be in charge.”

U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon also addressed attendees during the event. In her remarks, she declared that “Nothing is more important in our country than educating our students.”

While at the White House, Ingraham had the opportunity to speak with Secretary McMahon, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen, White House Domestic Policy Council Director Vince Haley, and a host of other top leaders in our country.
