Cascading Problems: The Case of Oxygen

We know what happens if we don’t get oxygen. In about two minutes, you’re in deep, deep trouble. But how do I get oxygen to thirty trillion cells in my body? Engineer Steve Laufmann discusses the cascading problems of oxygen. Laufmann is co-author of the book Your Designed Body: https://YourDesignedBody.com. Every day, your body must solve hundreds of hard engineering Read More ›

Untangler of Knots: The Amazing Topoisomerase Molecular Machine

Topoisomerase II is an extremely important enzyme in your cells that is designed to untangle knots and supercoils in DNA strands that arise during replication and transcription. It does this by grabbing two tangled DNA segments, holding one steady while it breaks the other segment in two, and then passing the first segment through the break. The second segment is then reconnected, and the two DNA segments are released, having been successfully untangled. Without topoisomerases, chromosomes would become an impossible mess, making DNA replication, transcription, and cell duplication impossible. Read More ›

The Miracle of the Cell Book Launch

Biologist Michael Denton’s new book, The Miracle of the Cell, considers the scientific evidence for intelligent design from a new perspective and at a new level. As with his previous books, it’s a more fundamental view than that of all other ID literature. Here, Denton discusses his new book The Miracle of the Cell with Eric Anderson in this Zoom Read More ›

The Miracle of the Cell

The Miracle of the Cell provides compelling evidence that long before life emerged on our planet, the design of the carbon-based cell was foreshadowed in the order of nature, in the exquisite fitness of the laws of nature for this foundational unit of all life on Earth. Nowhere is this fitness more apparent than in the properties of the key atomic Read More ›

How Evolution Uses Natural Selection

How Evolution Uses Natural Selection to Build Organisms

What is natural selection and how does evolution use it to build new organisms? The fundamental difficulty for any undirected process of evolution is being able to see into the future and determine what functions that organism will need to survive. An unguided process like natural selection is incapable of doing that. What natural selection and other undirected natural mechanisms cannot achieve however, an intelligent agent can. Philosopher of Biology Paul Nelson describes the amazing process by which the worm C. elegans is constructed and how it points toward intelligent design. Read More ›
