Jay Richards to Speak at SES National Conference

Topics will include artificial intelligence, gender ideology, and the "tyranny of expertise".

Center for Science & Culture Senior Fellow and philosopher of science Jay W. Richards has been invited to present three sessions at this year’s annual SES National Conference, taking place in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Richards will be speaking on a variety of cultural issues related to tech, gender ideology, and scientific tyranny.

His first talk during the Thursday pre-event will address issues related to tech, AI, and materialism. This session is not included in the main conference and is only available to those who purchase a special ticket.

On Friday, Richards will be presenting two additional sessions. His 10:05 am plenary session is titled Gender Ideology’s Assault on Human Nature. Here, he’ll focus on the scientific and metaphysical claims of the new gender apologists and how Christians should respond. Finally, in his 1:45 pm breakout session entitled Detecting the Tyranny of Expertise, Richards will consider three recent examples of the ideological use of science and then offer a way for laypeople to distinguish between reliable and unreliable “consensus.”

Pam Bailey, Director of Operations for Discovery Institute—Dallas, will also be present at the speaker table in order to offer a free book and more information. We invite you to come out and show your support. Registration ends on Friday, October 6.
