Encountering Beauty in the Sciences
The inaugural event in a new “Encountering Beauty” series, this “Beauty in the Sciences” seminar hosted by the Museum of the Bible will feature four Center for Science & Culture Fellows. Guillermo Gonzalez, Jay Richards, Melissa Cain Travis, and Jonathan Witt will be joined by other speakers to explore the natural beauty of our world and its spiritual implications.
Here’s a message from the organizers:
Since the beginning of creation, mankind has longed to gaze upon beauty.
From a painted sunset, to the skillful brushstroke of the artist, to the vastness of the ocean, to the pattern of a snowflake, all of these things are made to point the observer past themselves to the truth and goodness of the Creator.
In this inaugural event in the series, Dr. Boa and guests will discuss the natural beauty that surrounds us, integrating scientific insight with spiritual wisdom.
Through this approach, they aim to bridge the gap between science and faith, inviting observers to consider the intricacies and majesty of the universe as a testament to divine design. This exploration is not only about the physical, but also includes reflections on the philosophical and spiritual implications of our understanding of the universe’s structure as a source of awe and wonder.
We are excited to announce this dynamic three-part series with Dr. Ken Boa and friends designed to open the heart, inspire the imagination, and invigorate the mind to delight in the wonder of God through science, the biblical narrative, and the arts.
Tickets are free, but registration is required.
