Advanced Search

Checking "Exact Phrase Search" will return only results that match all the terms of your search in the order they are entered. The following additional filters are available.

Date Range

You can filters results both before and after a particular year. In each case, the year selected will be included. So, a search from 2000 to 2010 will include results from 2000 and 2010.

Authors

Searching by author will return only results from the specified author. The author dropdown autocompletes an author's name once you start typing.

Prioritize Results

The default sorting option lists most recent content first. You can also choose to sort by relevance, alphabetically by title, alphabetically by author, or by oldest content first.

Sorting by relevance orders by search terms in the following order: First, whether the entire sentence is matched. Second, if all the search terms are within the titles. Third, if any of the search terms appear in the titles. And, fourth, if the full sentence appears in the contents.

Types

When you are searching only at Discovery.org, you can choose to search for particular content types. For example, all books or videos with a particular search term. This option isn't available for multi-site searches yet.

Categories

When you are searching only at Discovery.org, you can choose to search for particular category of article. For example, all content that is categorized under Intelligent Design or all content that is categorized under Economics. This option isn't available for multi-site searches yet.
