Steven Bradley is the Steven Chair of Entrepreneurship & Private Enterprise at Baylor University and was recently the Founding Faculty Director of Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship & Free Enterprise.
He received his Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship with a minor in Business Strategy from the Indiana University, Kelley School of Business. He has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas, and a M.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University. Prior to academia, Steve gained extensive practical experience as an entrepreneur as the founder and manager of numerous businesses in the areas of engineering consulting, real estate, product development, and sales.
His broad research interests include the relationship of resources, environments to organizational survival and growth. Specifically, he has looked at resource constraints and resourcefulness using the context of microfinance in several developing countries. He has also done related research on organizational sponsorship in the form of incubators, accelerators, and maker spaces. He is currently examining the intersection of entrepreneurship and public policy.
Steve’s teaching responsibilities are currently in the area of social entrepreneurship and economic development. His work has been published in top management, strategy, and entrepreneurship journals and he currently serves on Editorial Review Boards for the Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Business Venturing and Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice and the Journal of Entrepreneurship & Public Policy.
