Alistair McKitterick

Alistair McKitterick is a programme leader for MA in Practical Theology and Ministry at London School of Theology. After studying physics at the University of Manchester, he taught maths and science at a secondary school in Zimbabwe.  He worked in industry in the energy market before studying the BA in Theology followed by the MA in Aspects of Biblical Interpretation at London School of Theology (or London Bible College as it was then).  After teaching RE at St Helens School in Northwood he taught theology as a lecturer at a college called Christ for the Nations UK in Midhurst.  After just over three years there, he became lecturer in biblical and theological studies at Moorlands College, Christchurch where he taught everything from biblical theology and hermeneutics to Christian spirituality and practical theology.  During that time, he studied for his doctorate with Spurgeon’s College, and gained his doctor of ministry award through the University of Chester.

Alistair has a particular interest in the science and theology debate.  He leads a biblical theology fellowship that meets once a month and is part of a men’s ministry team.  He and his wife Emily have four grown up children, three of whom are in London.  He lives in Chichester and is trying to complete all the Scottish hills.  He plays in a couple of bands and enjoys mountain biking and golf.

Alistair McKitterick Introduces the Whewell Centre

The Whewell Centre provides a place for students and postdoctoral researchers to work and participate in a community of like-minded scholars. The Centre provides mentoring, study carrels, and a library for students who are accepted into the program. It also hosts visiting faculty mentors who can lead semi-regular seminars and small conferences that serve as a focal point for crucial science/natural theology discussions.
