Brian DeVries is currently the Strategic Initiatives Manager and Education & Outreach Ambassador for the Center for Science and Culture, having contracted with Discovery Institute in 2024. He has also been on staff with Search Ministries since 2019, where he currently serves as Area Director. He is a graduate of Luther College with an MS in Physics from Arizona State University and an MS in Technology Management from the University of St. Thomas. Brian has worked with Exxon Research, Seagate Technology, and Lockheed Martin as a Physicist, Metrologist, and Senior Manager. His technical research focused on novel x-ray measurement techniques, semiconductor surface physics, and atomic deposition monitoring.
While at Lockheed Martin, Brian supported 34 sites in 17 states with a staff of more than 70 people. He was a three-time Lockheed Martin Executive Round Table Mentoring participant with commissioned projects and executive forums. In the summer of 2018, Brian was selected and given the opportunity to attend the Oxford Center for Christian Apologetics (OCCA) Business Programme in Oxford, England.
Completion of the OCCA study program ultimately led Brian to leave a 15-year career with Lockheed Martin to pursue apologetics and professional ministry. Brian began speaking on the topic of “faith and science” in universities and schools in New Jersey, Wisconsin, Virginia, Minnesota, and East Asia. He has been an invited speaker for faith-based conferences in Maryland and Minnesota. Brian and his wife, Kimberly, have two adult daughters and make their home in Chaska.
