Kathy Connors

Board of Directors, Discovery Institute

Kathy has been a community volunteer and philanthropist the past 25 years while raising her 4 children. A Bellevue, Washington native, she feels fortunate to be able to pursue her passions and community through organizations close to her heart. A 1982 graduate of the University of Washington Business school, Kathy worked for Deloitte, Haskins and Sells, Westin Hotels and Columbia Pictures before becoming a full time homemaker.

A lifelong Husky fan, Kathy has served the University of Washington on the Tyee and Foundation Boards and is currently serving on the Board of the Foster School of Business. She was also co-chair of the President’s Club. Kathy and her husband John were named the 2014 Frank Orrico award winners from the University of Washington Athletics department. The Orrico award recognizes outstanding levels of dedication, commitment and generosity to UW Athletics.

Kathy volunteered on the board and as a mentor for Eastside Academy — an alternative school in Bellevue. She currently is on the board of Washington Policy Center, Women of Washington, and the Seattle Humane Society. She sang in a local Sweet Adeline’s acapella chorus for 14 years and finds great joy in music. Her other passions revolve around sports , public policy and faith communities.

Kathy and her husband John are active in a wide range of philanthropic endeavors in the states of Washington and Montana.
