Advancing the Scientific Debate

If the publication in 2013 of Stephen Meyer’s book, Darwin’s Doubt: The Explosive Origin of Animal Life and the Case for Intelligent Design, tells us anything, it’s that the evolution debate in fact continues. More than that, like a storm, it is gathering strength and advancing steadily. Darwin’s Doubt was a major step forward. Now the controversy has advanced still further. The paperback edition of Meyer’s landmark work is now available, with a new 35-page Epilogue in which Dr. Meyer answers the more substantive challenges to his argument — from scientists including Charles Marshall, Donald Prothero and Nick Matzke, focusing on the origin of biological information, the duration of the Cambrian explosion, cladistics and the mystery of the missing ancestors. The Universe Next Door with Tom Woodward: Featuring Stephen Meyer on the Cambrian Explosion

On this episode of ID the Future, hear Stephen Meyer discuss the themes of his New York Times bestseller Darwin’s Doubt on The Universe Next Door with Tom Woodward. Dr. Meyer explains the significance of the Cambrian explosion and the fundamental issue of the origin of information, and also talks about new approaches to evolutionary theory in response to the inadequacy of neo-Darwinism.

Complex Biological Systems: A Debate, pt. 2: Ard Louis Presents

Intelligent design or theistic evolution? In this video, filmed at the 2013 European Leaders’ Forum in Wisla, Poland, Dr. Meyer debates physicist Dr. Ard Louis on the origin of biological systems. Meyer presents the evidence for intelligent design, while Louis maintains that neo-Darwinian processes played a key role in the development of complex life. Part 2 is Ard Louis’s opening statement. Look for part 1, Dr. Meyer’s opening statement, and part 3, a moderated discussion and response between the two.

Does Darwinian Evolution Disprove the Existence of God? Stephen Meyer on The Ben Shapiro Show

On this short but informative interview on KTTH’s The Ben Shapiro Show, Dr. Stephen Meyer discusses the compatibility of science and religion and explains why intelligent design provides a more satisfying explanation of the evidence than the neo-Darwinian selection/mutation mechanism.

Dr. Winston Ewert: Irreducible Complexity Remains Unrefuted

On this episode of ID the Future, Casey Luskin talks with Dr. Winston Ewert about his article that was published recently in the journal BIO-Complexity. Dr. Ewert’s paper criticizes a number of computer programs that purport to show that irreducible complexity could result from random, unguided evolution. He finds that “The prediction of irreducible complexity in computer simulations is that such systems will not generally evolve apart from intelligent aid” and this prediction “has thus far stood the test in computer models.”

Revisionist History in Cosmos

On this episode of ID the Future, Casey Luskin talks with Senior Fellow Jay Richards about distortions and outright falsehoods presented in the re-vamped Cosmos TV series. Dr. Richards discusses how Cosmos presents science and religion as enemies by misrepresenting the lives of Giordano Bruno, Isaac Newton, and Mozi.

Theistic Evolution Is Nearly as Problematic as Atheistic Darwinism

On this episode of ID the Future, Casey Luskin discusses his recent article in Salvo Magazine, “Deity Added: Theistic Evolution Is Nearly as Problematic as Atheistic Darwinism,” which explains many scientific problems with the theistic evolution viewpoint. Listen in as Luskin explains what the evidence shows, and notes that “theistic evolutionists make precisely the same scientific arguments that secular, atheistic, Darwinian evolutionists make. Theistic evolutionists essentially baptize materialistic ideas by adding, ‘And by the way, God did it this way’–although when pressed they’d admit that you can’t empirically detect God’s actions in any of it.”
