Saturday’s New York Times highlighted former Florida Governor and potential presidential candidate Jeb Bush’s reputation as “an intellectual in search of new ideas” and a “serial consulter of outsiders.” Lately, Bush has been consulting the ideas of Discovery Institute co-founder George Gilder — he names Knowledge and Power, which describes Gilder’s vision for a new economics, as one of the volumes that he’s currently reading.
For fresh — or even revolutionary — insight into effective governance and good policy, Jeb Bush couldn’t have picked a much more significant work than Knowledge and Power.
