Since 2020, our nation has gone from less than 1% of children having access to school choice to more than 50%. We\u2019ve helped usher in a new reality \u2014 that many had thought merely an unattainable dream \u2014 of statewide universal school choice, taking it from zero to 16 states:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

West Virginia \u2705 Arizona \u2705 Iowa \u2705 Utah \u2705 Arkansas \u2705 Florida \u2705 Indiana \u2705 Oklahoma \u2705 Ohio \u2705 North Carolina \u2705 Alabama \u2705 Louisiana \u2705 Tennessee \u2705 Idaho \u2705 Wyoming \u2705 Texas \u2705 and more are on the way!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then last month, in recognition of our successful education freedom and reform work, American Center for Transforming Education Director Dr. Keri D. Ingraham received a special invitation to the White House from the President of the United States. It acknowledged that Discovery Institute\u2019s American Center for Transforming Education is among the top leaders in our nation driving education reform results on behalf of children and the future of our country.<\/p>\n\n\n

While at the White House, Dr. Ingraham had the opportunity to talk individually with each of the nine governors \u2014 Governors Ron DeSantis, Greg Abbott, Kim Reynolds, Bill Lee, Jeff Landry, Mike Braun, Mike DeWine, Brad Little, and Jim Pillen \u2014<\/em> also attending the unveiling and signing ceremony of the \u201cImproving Education Outcomes by Empowering Parents, States, and Communities\u201d executive order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we\u2019ve advocated, dismantling the $3 trillion failure known as the U.S. Department of Education, which has not improved student learning, is an essential step in the right direction to effectively educate children. It will improve efficiency and effectiveness by moving some critical services to other federal agencies while cutting wasteful spending, radical ideologies, and endless bureaucracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In short, the move will get education back to the states to increase accountability for student learning results, aid in the better use of funds, and provide a bigger voice for moms and dads in their children\u2019s education. Together, we are a part of this powerful, long-overdue change! \u2705<\/p>\n\n\n
