Then last month, in recognition of our successful education freedom and reform work, American Center for Transforming Education Director Dr. Keri D. Ingraham received a special invitation to the White House from the President of the United States. It acknowledged that Discovery Institute’s American Center for Transforming Education is among the top leaders in our nation driving education reform results on behalf of children and the future of our country.

While at the White House, Dr. Ingraham had the opportunity to talk individually with each of the nine governors — Governors Ron DeSantis, Greg Abbott, Kim Reynolds, Bill Lee, Jeff Landry, Mike Braun, Mike DeWine, Brad Little, and Jim Pillen — also attending the unveiling and signing ceremony of the “Improving Education Outcomes by Empowering Parents, States, and Communities” executive order.

As we’ve advocated, dismantling the $3 trillion failure known as the U.S. Department of Education, which has not improved student learning, is an essential step in the right direction to effectively educate children. It will improve efficiency and effectiveness by moving some critical services to other federal agencies while cutting wasteful spending, radical ideologies, and endless bureaucracy.

In short, the move will get education back to the states to increase accountability for student learning results, aid in the better use of funds, and provide a bigger voice for moms and dads in their children’s education. Together, we are a part of this powerful, long-overdue change! ✅
