People in Seattle are well aware of the magnitude of the homeless problem. City leaders insist that more funding is needed to tackle this issue, but is money really the barrier to progress? Documentary filmmaker Christopher Rufo has conducted extensive research on the issues of poverty and homelessness in Seattle and around the country. Rather than just throwing money at the problem, Rufo proposes solutions that are compatible with facts on the ground. Please join us on Thursday, October 11 for a reception and lecture with Christopher Rufo, and hear new and compelling strategies than can be employed to solve the homeless crisis. A reception with light refreshments will begin at 4:30 before the program begins at 5:15. This is a free event, but space is limited and registration

Over the past decade, there has been an explosion in homelessness, addiction, crime, and disorder in America’s major cities. By latest count, there are more than 500,000 people sleeping on the streets in the United States, with the highest concentration in West Coast cities including Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. The problem has reached critical mass and voters are starting to take notice. A recent Crosscut/Elway poll found that homelessness was the number one issue for voters across Washington State. The progressive political class insists that it’s a “housing problem,”  however the real causes are much more intricate. Join us on Tuesday, March 31 for a reception and lecture with Christopher Rufo, Discovery Institute’s new Director for the Center on
