Canada’s Socialized Health-Care Culture of Death: 15,000-plus Die Awaiting Care; 15,000-plus Euthanized

What a debacle. More than 15,000 people died in Canada in one year because they couldn't access care in the country's collapsing socialized health-care system. But it gets worse. About the same number of people were euthanized in Canada in 2023. Some asked to be lethally jabbed because they couldn't access health care in a timely fashion.

The Hype and Limitations of Generative AI

Robert J. Marks II
January 16, 2025
On this episode, host Robert J. Marks concludes his conversation with economics professor and author Gary Smith about the hype and limitations of generative AI. Smith is the Fletcher Jones Professor of Economics at Ponoma College and a frequent contributor to Mind Matters News. In this portion of the conversation, Smith and Marks explore the hype around artificial general intelligence (AGI) and explain how current large language models lack true reasoning and creative capabilities, despite regular claims of impending AGI from people like OpenAI’s Sam Altman. Smith provides examples demonstrating how these models make nonsensical or incorrect responses to logical problems and financial questions, highlighting their inability to understand context and perform meaningful reasoning.

Challenging Darwinian Evolution: A Medical Doctor’s Insights

January 15, 2025
On this ID The Future, host Casey Luskin concludes a two-part conversation with Dr. Uditha Jayatunga, a medical doctor and consultant in rehabilitation medicine in the UK, about the challenges that biological complexity poses to evolutionary theory. Their chat is a helpful refresher on some of the biggest challenges to a Darwinian explanation for the origin and development of life on Earth. In Part 2, Dr. Jayatunga shares more examples of purposeful complexity from the animal world. He discusses singular features of the panther chameleon and the hummingbird. He also talks about the humble water flea, whose unusually large genome contains great quantities of a special type of de novo gene called orphan genes. These orphan genes are unique to the species with no known counterparts in other

How Animal Complexity Challenges Evolution

Does animal complexity suggest a Darwinian origin, or is it evidence of intelligent design? On this ID The Future, host Casey Luskin begins a two-part conversation with Dr. Uditha Jayatunga, a medical doctor and consultant in rehabilitation medicine in the UK, about the challenges that biological complexity poses to evolutionary theory. This conversation acts as a helpful refresher on some of the biggest challenges to a Darwinian explanation for the origin and development of life on Earth. In Part 1, Dr. Jayatunga starts by reminding us of the immense complexity in even the simplest living cells. He argues that the cell’s complex structures and functions require many interactive systems to arise simultaneously, not gradually. “Life is not an add-on process,” says Dr.
