Mr. Wussow, a Nashville, Tenn., native, served in Washington, D.C., on the foreign policy staff of former U.S. Senator Fred Thompson and the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee. There he worked on major foreign policy, national security and intelligence bills. He covered issues such as the expansion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, proliferation, and other security and trade matters.
Among other writing and reporting assignments, Mr. Wussow worked with author Major Garrett on a book published by Random House in 2005, "The Enduring Revolution: How the Contract With America Continues to Shape the Nation." The book, now in second printing, assesses congressional policy-making during one decade of Republican majorities. Authorities in politics and academia, including George Will, Michael Barone, and David Corn lauded the book. Respected U.S. presidential historian Douglas Brinkley said it was "a truly honorable and significant study, based on smart analysis and rock-solid research."
In the private sector, Mr. Wussow has provided crisis management and strategic communication counsel to leading companies and not-for-profits in health care, technology and other industries. He has focused on resolving litigation, preserving shareholder value and mitigating public concerns. His clients have included global leaders in software and health informatics, including Microsoft Corp. and Cerner Corp.
Mr. Wussow received a master's in journalism from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He has a bachelor's in political science from Marquette University (international and comparative focus).
