We invite you to join fellow friends and supporters of Discovery Institute on Monday, September 15, 2014 at the Harbor Club in downtown Seattle as we celebrate the public launch of Discovery Institute’s Chapman Center for Citizen Leadership, named in honor of Discovery Institute Founder, Bruce Chapman. The luncheon will begin at noon and conclude by 1:30 PM.

Tailored to young professionals aged 35 and under, the Chapman Center prepares young people for principled and effective political participation. Through public lectures and private, invitation-only gatherings with respected national leaders from business, media, policy and academia, the program challenges the view of politics as a science and instead prepares young leaders with practical guidance on how to be successful in public and community service. The program also features social events - held throughout the year - that allow program participants to build personal friendships and professional networks.

The luncheon will be emceed by local radio personality John Carlson - a former employee of Mr. Chapman’s when he headed the U.S. Census Bureau - and keynoted by renowned author and speaker, Steven Hayward, Ronald Reagan Distinguished Visiting Professor at Pepperdine University's Graduate School of Public Policy. Please join us to celebrate the launch of the Chapman Center and the public policy career of Bruce Chapman!

The luncheon will take place at noon at the Harbor Club in downtown Seattle (801 Second Avenue, 17th Floor). Cost to attend is $50. Parking is available in nearby garages. If you are interested in sponsorship opportunities, please contact Tessa Rath at 206-292-0401 ext. 123, or by email:
