Movie Premiere and Discussion with Director John West
You may know C.S. Lewis for his work in Christian apologetics, or maybe for his well known children’s series. But how much do you know about Lewis and science? Was Lewis a proponent of Darwinian evolution? What would he think about today’s intelligent design movement?
Join us at First Presbyterian Church, Tacoma for the premiere of the short video documentary The Magician's Twin: C.S. Lewis and Intelligent Design (watch the trailer here)
, followed by a discussion with the director, John West
. This film is an installment in a three-part video series on C.S. Lewis and science, which was inspired by the new book The Magician’s Twin: C.S. Lewis on Science, Scientism and Society
In this short documentary, West explores a number of arguments by Lewis that align with the theory of intelligent design. Lewis strongly believed that key features in nature pointed to an intelligent cause: the presence of beauty, a presupposed moral standard, the existence of reason, and the inability of complexity to arise purely from natural processes. Come learn more about what this beloved Christian author had to say about one of today’s largest scientific debates.
