Transforming Transportation: The Promise of Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles
With oil prices hovering at $90 a barrel and imports costing the U.S. economy a billion dollars a day, it is imperative that the United States reduce its dependence on foreign oil. One way to accomplish that goal is through the widespread deployment of Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles, or PHEVs.
Join Cascadia Center Senior Fellow Steve Marshall as he discusses the promise of plug-in hybrid electric cars, explains why they are a game-changing technology, and describes what should be done to accelerate and integrate this new technology into our national transportation and energy planning.
The event — part of our McNaughton Fellows Lecture Series — will be held at our new offices, located at 208 Columbia Street in downtown Seattle from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Though we cannot validate, parking is available in the Millennium Tower garage (719 2nd Avenue - entrance on Columbia). Should you choose to park elsewhere, please verify the garage hours as many of the adjacent parking lots in our neighborhood close at 6:00 pm. Our new location is also accessible by Metro.
To register for this event, please contact Mollie Tschida at (206) 292-0401 ext. 111 or send an email to
molliet@discovery.org. Suggested donation is $10.
