Please join Discovery Institute board member Slade Gorton as he discusses U.S. intelligence successes and failures since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Senator Gorton will highlight several recommendations made by the 9/11 Commission and evaluate the progress of U.S. intelligence agencies, the military and Congress in implementing these changes. Prior to serving on the 9/11 Commission, Senator Gorton represented Washington State for 18 years in the United States Senate. He also served for 12 years as the state’s Attorney General and ten years in the Washington State legislature.

The event will be held at our Seattle headquarters, located at 208 Columbia Street in downtown Seattle, on Thursday, June 24, from 4:30 to 6:00 PM. A light reception will precede the event. Though we cannot validate, parking is available in the Millennium Tower Garage (719 2nd Avenue - entrance on Columbia). Should you choose to park elsewhere, please verify the garage hours as many of the adjacent parking lots in our neighborhood close at 6:00 pm. Our new location is also metro accessible.
