Discovery Preview Screening: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe
SOLD OUT!!
THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT.
"The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" by C.S. Lews is one of the most beloved classics of children's fiction. This December, Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media will release a live-action film adaptation of the book. Budgeted at more than $150 million, the film version is directed by Adam Adamson ("Shrek" etc.) and boasts special effects by the same company that did the visual effects for "The Lord of the Rings" films.
Discovery Institute is pleased to invite you to a special advance screening of this new film on Thursday, December 8 at 6:30 pm (the film goes into general release the next day, December 9). Be one of the first people in Seattle to see what promises to be an extraordinary holiday film! Sponsored in conjunction with the Barna Group, this pre-release screening will be at the Pacific Place Theatres at 600 Pine Street in downtown Seattle. Pacific Place Theatres is an upscale state-of-the-art facility featuring wall-to-wall screens and posh well-angled seating with retractable arm rests. Ample parking is available in the on-site parking garage.
Tickets for this advance screening must be purchased through Harvest Logos Bookstore. Tickets can be purchased over the phone or on the web for $13 per person, or in person at the bookstore for cash or check for $12 per person. To order tickets on the web, please visit: http://www.booksite.com/texis/scripts/oop/click_ord/showdetail.html?sid=5763&isbn=BKSTMMLWW.
To purchase tickets by phone, call 206-781-8725. (Those wanting to purchase the tickets in person at the bookstore should call first to check about availability.)
Attendees at this special advance screening will receive oversized commemorative tickets issued by the Walt Disney Company showing that they attended a pre-release screening. They will also be entered into a raffle to win a variety of prizes, including movie posters for the film and books about C.S. Lewis and the Chronicles of Narnia.
Finally, the screening will be hosted by Discovery Senior Fellow Dr. John West, co-editor of The C.S. Lewis Readers' Encyclopedia. Dr. West will give a brief introduction about the behind-the-scenes story of how Lewis came to write "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." Dr. West is Chair of the Department of Political Science and Geography at Seattle Pacific University and Co-Director of the C.S. Lewis Institute there.
Seating is limited for this one-time event, so be sure to order your tickets today!
